About us
How it started?
It all started with a simple idea – design cool high-quality t-shirts that everyone can afford.
We grew tired of mass produced clothing with bad design, poor quality, unfair workplaces and dirty impacts on the environment. We wanted to change how things get made and bring a new fresh approach to t-shirt standards.
A few months later, me (Inês), Pedro (my boyfriend) and Tomás (my brother) found ourselves brainstorming about launching our own brand centered around 100% organic cotton t-shirts, better made for both people and the planet.

Lisbon store and the online future
We created Contrast in 2018 and opened our first store in Lisbon’s downtown. We wanted people to feel and experience our products to really understand what organic cotton and good quality design actually mean.
As business grows in-store we aim to refine our product line and increase our online presence connecting more with people around the world who also value design & quality and support a more conscious lifestyle.
Independent & Original
All our designs are made in-house. We’re not big on trends. We want both men and women to wear our designs for years to come. So, we keep them simple, clean and fresh.
Our inspiration comes from great typography and a minimal asthetic, but also from our urban lifestyle which is strongly connected with Lisbon’s downtown.
Organic & Ethical
Our products are made of 100% organic cotton. Our suppliers have GOTS Certification, which guarantees the cotton is GMO-free and grown without the use of chemicals. Basically much better for the planet.
GOTS also ensures compliance with the international labour standards, meaning these factory partners treat workers with respect at all times.
Comfortable & Affordable
We care about softness, comfort and durability. Our collection is made to fit perfectly and last longer. We aim to create quality products affordable to people in a more conscious and ethical way.
